Hmmm. Perhaps we need a new version of Godwin's law?

Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

I hope not.
Usually, the conversation drifts around to Bush when all U.S. citizens are lumped into the same category as him (e.g. 499 Europeans and 1 Bush who can't sleep from this post). I took exception to being labeled a 'Bush' and called it out. The rest was history.

I think the system does not matter. It should be one of the supported three systems. Test as much as u can and give reports as clear as possible.
indeed, i guess a big variety of different systems (as long as officially supported) is important; otherwise, beta-testing could be done on 3 super-computers in the ableton lab
another thing that may be helpful for beta testing is to ask testers again to give system information (filled maybe into a standard template?) in their footnote space..
just to prevent the ableton team to spend half day with sending reply mails that say "on what system did that happen?"
greetings,
jan

I think it would be cool that all Betas had a direct "send bug/report" button tab..that sends the info of the beta and all data used with the beta to Ableton to assure all infos are correct. They would then know the variables involved/OS/etc..

For what it is worth, I am planning to forego the first round of the beta testing. (1) I really don't have enough experience with Live to be a proper 'first round' tester. The first round beta testing is probably the most important (followed by the first RC round), this where you should catch all the showstopping bugs. (2) I am beta-testing 2 other packages and adding a third package would not allow me to give any of the products their due dilligence. Please don't consider this to be lack of interest. In fact, I have my 150 bones back for the upgrade when the for sale sign get turned on.

yeah, but looking at the working times of the ableton team, you might actually get equal chances.

they haven't - just that it's not last weekend and they'd need another week

Well, I think it is first come first serve. So, if a hardcore user, such as yourself, was among the first 500 to download it, then he/she would get a piece of the action.

Even after a strong cup of coffee I can't make heads or tails of this particular string of words.
