Streaming music hosting site that doesn't crush your nuts?

Post by beats me » Thu Apr 19, 2007 12:52 am

Can anybody recommend a good streaming music hosting site that doesn't mangle your music? Myspace seems to be the most popular but they run your mp3s through their patented shittifier filter that grabs the biggest weaknesses in your mixes and amplifies them for the general public.

Or am I looking at this wrong and should look at it as more of an opportunity? If it sounds good on myspace then it should sound great everywhere else.

isn't everyone going to use a shitifier of some sort?
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

www.soundclick.com not bad. You can upload 320 mp3's if you pay.

Thanks for the links and keep them coming. Probably the best way to test this is to post the same song to as many sites as possible and then hear the difference.

Heh heh. I thought I found an artist doing some cool glitch type DnB on clicksound.com but it was in fact the result of me streaming a song on their soundclick page while clicking the link to their myspace page and both pages were playing at the same time. God, the interface is fugly on clicksound. Is the designer 12 years old?

I'm not sure about the sound part of virb.com yet either but the interface looks pretty damn sweet. I think I might have found a home for my new project, well, one of it's homes.

I'm using last.fm - you can put as much stuff as you like online and make it all freely downloadable if you choose. People can stream it from you artist page, or chance upon it if they listen to the last.fm radio.
