1) Ableton Live CPU Meter - 14-15% but see below for soundcard specifics

2) Laptop - Compal HE80

3) Operating System - XP Pro, SP2

4) CPU Make Model and Speed - Core 2 Duo, T7200, 2 x 2.0 ghz

5) Amount of Ram / Speed of Ram - 2gb, 667mhz

6) Soundcards:

a) Internal Soundcard - realtek; ASIO4ALL Drivers -
512 samples - CPU=13%
256 samples - CPU=15%
128 samples - lots of crackles and pops

b) RME Cardbus, Driver v.3.01; Firmware 16
512 samples - CPU=14%
256 samples - CPU=15%
128 samples - CPU=19%
64 samples - CPU=25%, a few crackles and pops, somewhat usable
32 samples - CPU=31%, a few more crackles, but still somewhat usable

7) Hard Disk Drive Speed - Hitachi 7200rpm 100gb

EDIT: This laptop is horrible. I had to send it back because nothing worked...firewire sucked, CPU issues, stutters in the audio, etc etc etc. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

not that I know if...and since we have a solid benchmark with v5, this is probably the best test...but you're right, this is starting to show its age. Perhaps time for a new benchmark...

Don't forget the liquid nitrogen you'll need to cool that chip :)

Yea, believe me I know... Many gamers have had it up around 3.2 on air & near 3.4 water cooled. I'm only going for a minor bump up to 3.0Ghz which according to the manual, is well within safe tolerances. So hopefully, no China Syndrome.
