Maybe Midisport problems

Specs:
G3 Pismo 500Mhz
OS 9.1.4 i believe........
formated the hard drive the other day, re-installed everything including Live 1.5.2....Midisport, drivers, OMS..blah everything seems o.k.
all the correct ports selected in the preferences, etc....
went into the studio the other night and tried to slave Live to a MPC with MIDI clock, no luck. tried slaving it to Pro Tools thru a MOTU MIDI Timpiece, no luck...
forgot about it, decided to just hook up the fader box and play with Live that way.....no go. Midisport shows incoming data, but Live wasn't getting anything...WTF? fader box was set-up correctly, kords were fine...
when i had 1.5 installed, fader box worked perfectly, ALL the time...hadn't tried to slave it though...
Anyone have any thoughts? is there a bug maybe with 1.5.2 perhaps?
I might wipe the preferences, or delete everything and re-install, or just go back to 1.5...
