sjeez.. those dudes are still the crowned signature-change and signature-mix kings..

incredible live set..
hard, even danceable, deep complexity at times..

total darkness, no VJ (thank god!) and the two of them both hiding behind a monitor speaker
the only visible thing we're their Machinedrum lit faces whiich makes you totally focus on the music..
great.

go see!
think their tour has started..

I saw Autechre once...it was awesome. Very funny to watch sorority style club girls trying in vain to booty shake to Autechre! I felt immobile - both physically and emotionally. Awesome stuff.

ive had the pleasure of seeing them a couple times and the fact that they make you focus on the music is awesome. made for good dancing. when the beat stayed the same for more than a few seconds.

Thanks for letting me see this topic. That's gotta be the most interesting music discovery I've come across so far this year :D

ha that's funny you say that. i caught them once when i lived out west and it was the same exact story. a bunch of skanks trying to do the thong song dance to a clicked out Autechre set. funny shit. good show though.

Saw Autechre in Atlanta a few years ago. They were total shit. Sounded awful. Worst show I've ever been to.

do you like autechre? Do you mean material or sound?

surprised because every time i've seen them they have sounded great. I certainly liked the material they were doing a whole lot more when i first saw them compared to the last time, but still sound was amazing.

I saw them in Denver in 1994 and it was awesome! They wore gas masks and I was convinced that they were filling the theatre with laughing gas. Of course, my mind was in a special state that night...

the thing with Autechre is that if you think you'll hear CD material; think again..
or maybe in a far disstance, totally cut-up..

I've seen them 3 times now and the first two times I was kinda dissapointed because I thought I was also going to hear some songs I know from CD..

The 3rd time I was totally prepared for this..

Me and some friends had some discussions lately about why the hell alot of IDM/Electronics artists feel the urge to do danceable sets and totally abandon their CD work when performing live..

I'm not specifically there to dance; I want to hear the stuff they normally do as well..
