I love how active this forum is, but I have one suggestion for here that would improve is usability alot-
could we have a the general section split into 3 or 4 new parts -
-ableton live
-hardware
-vsts/other software
-chit chat

maybe it could somehow be broken up even more, but the search function for me just returns so much, i sometimes cant find anything.

Peeps don't seem to follow the forum breakup as it is.

The amount of people that ask for help in tips and tricks for instance is annoying.

Shouldn't this be in General ?

I was also thinking this post should be in the general section but then I realised it's a website feature request so I guess it makes sense.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Easiest thing to do is to create an OT section. The topics that have nothing to do with anything are clogging the general section.

The forum is one of the reasons, why i lost interest in Live's development.
It's just too annoying for me.
Using the search function has also resulted very often in threads with exceptional low quality so that Live seems to be used mostly by kids and newbies.
I know it's not the case, but the Omegas are just dominating here.

firstly there are always going to be more newbies and kids in any profession, thats just the way it is.everyone of us used to be a newbie.how are you suppose to to improve if ya don't ask the odd stupid question?
remember: the children are our future.
secondly music is meant to be fun, it is for me anyway.
thirdly can you not just ignore the chit chat? it's hardly the end of the world.
i dont mean to have a go but can't quite understand what the big deal is.
and finally i agree a general chat section would be a good idea 8O

Children have to shut up, when the older people are talking.
If they are dominating forums, then the experienced and pro-users go away.
Look at the topics here and then look at the topics in Sonikmatters Logic forum.

Search function?
RTFM?

.
kind of a bizarre statement.

so if Live 7 has modular patching you won't be interested because there's a group of 12 year old ADD maladroits somewhere posting "look at me" nonsense?

this forum is actually quite informative and the majority of it covers helpful topics, there are regulars here who help people out, create tutorials, livepacks, racks, wikis, plugins, all specific to Live and all propelled by the community here.

Sure, there are also idiots, zealots, complainers, children and thieves too.
But, that's because this forum is used by humans. Humans are random, humans are blinkered, humans are annoying. Looked outside the window?

a list of Off Topics
  • politics
  • religion
  • science
  • I am 12 and yooz are loozerz
  • I hate off topic posts and am not intentionally being ironic
in that order

tru

If you've been around long enough you develop a subconscious filtering mechanism that lets you ignore +90% of what goes on here

The other 10% is gold

But if the guys took a minute to split this board up a bit more, it would be about 20x more useful, yeah ....

the General forum is currently one pile of dog pooh, again..

If we have to filter, give us the tools..

- ignore thread
- ignore user
