Are they really gonna keep hammering away at a full version every year? What about the .1 and .2 and .5 etc. like normal software?
I kinda think full versions should be big overhauls like they used to do it. Live 6 was an essential upgrade for me, and a no-brainer to get, but it still seemed like a 5.5.
Is there seriously going to be a Live 12 in five years? Seems silly.

I think Ableton's business plan and budget is pretty much based on the revenue from paid upgrades every year. As long as they actually improve the product and people keep wanting to buy the new versions, there's no point for them in changing that.R.J.Dubya wrote:Are they really gonna keep hammering away at a full version every year? I like to see the 6.5 first..
A proper update that'll iron out the little workflow killers,
maybe including a little AbleCycle'74 peek-a-boo, or another small new thingie..
that's it..
then start announcing 7 at the end of this year..
my 2 pfennig..
