Setting Multiple Loop Points?

Post by waybeyondz » Sat Jun 02, 2007 2:14 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how to designate multiple loop points within a track? I'm planning on DJing with Live and want to place loops in the beginning and end of the track. From what I can tell so far, you can only place one loop per track.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to place multiple loop points? Or if you can only place one loop per track, how to recall where the second loop should be?

I was thinking of renaming tracks with loop point info, so I can recall where to place the loops. For example, "Track XYZ 1/8 & 65/4" would indicate that that the first loop starts at beat 1 and lasts 8 bars and the second loop starts at beat 65 and lasts 4 bars. I would save the first loop point with the track and then change to the second one once the track is playing. Has anyone used this technique?

Thanks for your help.

Just create 3 clips with the same sound. Set the diferent loop points in 2 of them, leave the other one unchanged, then change between them.
You can use follow actions too, and try legato launch mode.

Another way to jump around with loop points is to MIDI map controllers to the loop start and end points...Nice for real time loop manipulation. I have never done this myself ( yet ) but you could use something like the IAC bus or MIDI yoke to have the loop points definate sections in the clip
