I hope they continue produce good machines like in the past, with these warm filters and dead simple user interface.

Sorry to drag an old thread out... but I recently bought a Pulse off eBay, trying Rekon's editor demo, and can't figure out how to set it up correctly in Live. VSTs can't send MIDI out in Live, surely?

theres a trick to this. you need to use another midi track to take the vst midi and output it to the real world.

make a new midi channel with nothing on it called 'router'
set the 'router' monitor to 'in'
set 'router' input as 'from Editor' where 'editor' is the name of the midi track with your waldorf editor on.
beneath the 'from Editor' routing pulldown there should be another box , choose 'waldorf editor'
set routers midi output to the midi output your waldorf is connected to.

should work

they have a mac version now, but the rekon webpage says that it (mac or pc version) doesn't support live... i still want to use it, guess i'll try the demo.

Just do a search on the web and you'll see waldorf is back with what seems to be some great new synths. I'm a big fan of the pulse.

unfortunately waldorf went out of businness, they announced a collab with terratec like onme or two years ago...
I'm afraid we won't see any waldorf hardware synth anymore... sad, because the waldorf gear has a really nice appeal.

going to get a pulse too soon, happy to have the editor.

Let me know if you have any success. I've been wanting to try their Virus editor but the lack of Live compatibility has been putting me off splashing out. Unfortunately there's no demo of the Virus version.

well, i'm still in canada, but as soon as i get home i'll check it out.

sysex shouldn't matter for the pulse, as every parameter can be controlled by CCs.

I was psyched about this too, until I realized that it did not work with LIve.
It shows up and all, but it gave me only partial and unusable gui's.

I'd hand over the money in a second if this worked with LIve.

If we get enough people making noise on this thread, they will fix it.

This is ideal for so many reasons.

Well, almost back, at any rate..

Zarenbourg:

I saw them all at frankfurt (except for the stromberg, which was simply a protoype case with a fake display), and wasn't terribly impressed. The Zarenbourg might appeal to some people, but at 50+ Kg, aliased notes in playback, and poor key action, I don't think I'll be getting one. The blofeld had many visible bugs in the display controller and seemed to have kind of cheap knobs and casing... it doesn't look nearly as slick as it does in the artist's rendering.

I don't mean to go on a rant here, given that none of this stuff is on the market, but I just think that it's rather unprofessional to hype up products months before they hit the market. Their prototypes weren't even ready to show at frankfurt musikmesse, imo...
