Poster, you're absolutely right.

that will not help because the 'fade' button is on by default..
you can only manually deactivate it..

Damn!
It should be optional on the preferences as well then. Gonna post that on feature requests...

it's the 'fade' in the clip properties and the fade at previewing the sample in the browser that's causing the difference..

I've always considered myself as some kind of jester

Yes, I find it funny. Everybody seems to be waiting for Ableton to pull a "reason 2.5"
To this date, still the most significant .5 update in the audio world. Why? Cause it was free

Ableton recently released Live 1.5 (available as a free update from Ableton's Website, which adds support for ReWire 2, the ability to render to disk and includes a powerful reverb.

yeah.. the 2.5 was great..

I would also fancy a 6.5 though..
Just to cleansweep all the issues in the 'small workflow improvements' thread..
Because there are still alot of issues..

I'm just a bit afraid that a v.7 will focus too much on new thingies,
where I just want them to fix all the annoyances first..
6 is probably the most complete release ever,
a 6.5 would really complement this status if you ask me..

we'll have to wait and see..
