Bump.
I ve got to decide the same question now...
glossy seems to be the new standard and kind of looks nice, but on the other
side it looks good in a "give me attention" way, and at the end, i want to
work with my display without thinking on it and not staring at it and think:
wow, looks nice...
you know what i mean?

I have the matte one and I am very happy with it, although, fair play, when it is in direct light it is still really hard to see anything.
Don't know about glossy, but I have absolutely no problem with normal...

I am guessing you are following the news right?!
on the NEW MBP, Is this a question about LED display versus Non-LED display?
For me there's nothing to consider: LED displays augment the battery's endurance by 30min-60min, I read. The new main CPU family helps that too.

No, the new LED-lit screens are available in matte and glossy.Mesmer wrote:I am guessing you are following the news right?!

.
I've been using this glossy macbook (after 3 years with a matte powerbook) for 7 months now. I really like it and have had no probs at all with glare or any of that.
Having said that work might be buyng me a mbp and I think I might opt for the matte if given the choice (for the MB, there's no option but glossy).
You knew what he/she meant though right?waybeyondz wrote:they don't have LED displays yet...Mesmer wrote:I am guessing you are following the news right?!

Yesterday, or was it the day before, I read this:
http://www.macrumors.com/2007/06/05/mac ... d-details/
And after that went to apple.com to see their "tech specs" and I could swear I saw the optional LED for the 15". Now I go and see their TFT declaration and don't beleive my eyes. I don't see any news header "Apple takes that back - No LCDs sorry for pulling your strings"...
I don't know, guess business is like that?!!
