non contiguous keys assigning

Post by andy_it » Fri Jun 22, 2007 7:07 am

If I would like to put an instrument only on every C keys for example, I need to create a new chain for every note in instrument's rack.

I would be very useful and would lighten many projects if, for example by pressing ctrl key while clicking, you could 'delete' some notes in the key range.

Or it would be nice to 'virtually clone' one instrument simply by forcing the clone (that doesn't load anything) to point to the referred instrument... I mean a simple midi sender to the instrument, so that you can avoid loading many vst sessions with the same sound, but you can arrange complex keys distributions anyway.

I think the first solution would be better. What do you think about it?

thanks!

No need to overcomplicate things. If you want an instrument to play only one key, the use the scale plugin.
Check the default presets, there should be one named; "in C" or something similar.
