an all-in-one dj mixer / audio interface / midi controller??

Post by m-laboratories.net » Fri Jun 22, 2007 11:12 pm

Hi everyone - Is there such thing as an all-in-one dj mixer/audio interface/midicontroller? I am looking for a (mythical?) device which will allow me to:

a) control ableton and/or traktor
b) accept audio input from the computer via USB or firewire
c) accept RCA input from a pair of CDJs
d) mix it all down and send balanced line outs to my PA

Any ideas? Thanks!

thanks for the recommendations, that is indeed exactly what i asked for... but way too expensive! :) I'd like to avoid spending more than $1200.

yes, zero4 is much closer to my price range, and is less "overkill" in terms of what I need. I don't see many reviews of it yet, though...

At the lower end I noticed this page http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... control_us

Any thoughts on these or other similar products would be much appreciated...

This setup cost me £400. Sorry for rubbish photo quality. It's two Faderfoxes and an Echo Audiofire2. When I rock up to a gig I just plug the fw cable into my macbook plug in the audio jacks and headphones and I'm ready to go.

That's a sweet lil' setup you have there. Did you build your own case for them?

Yeah, it's just a small minimal enclosure that it all fixes to. It's pretty simple but works out quite well.
