why is live taking so long to load?!

probably the oldest, most frequently asked question out there. yet i couldnt find an answer!
i'm running 5.2.2 on an imac g4 os10.3.9
i'd rather not have to upgrade to live6 or even osx tiger(10.4) just yet.
it takes forever to open even when i'm just opening my song template set, which has no music saved in it.

Maybe a folder with a 1000 samples was open when you closed Live. Closing it before you close Live, might save you 5 seconds.

do you mean a folder within live's browser? or a folder anywhere.
thing is, i'm talking about 3-5 minutes though
