how to map impulse sounds to specific pads on a mpc?

Post by LISH » Sun Jul 29, 2007 5:55 pm

I am trying to figure out how I can map different impulses to specific pads on the mpc 1000. When you create a new impulse on the left most box its default is c3 or the a key on the keyboard right? Well when I turn on midi map mode I cant map the impulses to specific pads on the mpc 1000. I am able to trigger these sounds from my mpc but the impulses come up on the mpc banks all over the place. I want to be able to put all my drums next to each other on the pads. does this make any sense lol?

thx in advance

use a midi rack w/ the pitch plug. put 8 pitch plugs in a rack and set each to one note going from c3 to c4 (impulse default). then use the pitch plug to adjust and corespond to the pad on your mpc.

hope that helps.

on the mpc go to mode-program-note and change the mpc notes there.

this drove me nuts for a while on the mpc, there are two places to set midi notes, I was trying the mode-midi/sync page, but you have to change it on the program level.

the re-mapping in Live is doable but because the mpc notes are all over the place it's a bit tedious.

best to make an impulse program on the mpc, and load it up when needed
