How to emulate Audio Damage Dubstation?(Mac OSX UB)

Post by kiwipicker » Mon Aug 06, 2007 9:39 pm

I's wondering if anyone has a tip on how to emulate the Audio Damage Dubstation, preferabbly using Live's plugs.
Specifically, the filter saturation (Regenarataion its called on dubstation).
my mate let me play around the other day, and it is cheap as chips, but it seems like something that I could probably make myself with Live's simple delay and auto filter.
the only thing I can't figure out is how I would make the filter saturate automatically as it delays. any help please?

You can't do this in a rack, as there's no way of setting up the feedback loop you need. You'd be able to do it using two send channels with one feeding back into the other, but it'll be a pain to tweak compared to Dubstation. There's also no way you'll ever be able to emulate the way the pitch of the delay buffer changes when you change the delay time in Dubstation.

Just buy it! It's arguably one of the best delay plugins available yet it only costs $39. No brainer!

you could emulate it but it wouldnt sound as good or be as easy probably.
However try putting a filter and a saturator after a delay, in whatever order. You'd have to ride the saturation manually but you could set up an lfo on the filter to get the 'repeating on a crappy tape' sound
