Edit Keys On The Piano Roll - Note Names

Post by naomh » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:08 pm

You know how on the piano keys in the piano roll view you'll see the audio key (letter) and octave (number)...ie C5, C6, etc.

Is there a way to edit those? For instance I need to change "C5" to read "Green". You can do this in Sonar (YUCK, sorry), they call it "Note Names".

It must be possible on some level...I noticed in Live that when you load up an Impulse Kit the note names on the keyboard change to reflect the percussive the represent.

Thanks for your help,
Kyle

have you try out to set the fold button of on at the bottom of the pianoroll???

then it shows the name of the selected samples from the slots of impulse.....

you can't name notes directly but there is a workaround using a midirack, because you can make a midi rack, name the layers what you want and then 'fold notes'
