Live thinks I am using it for the first time

I opened Live 6 on my Macbook Pro this morning, and suddenly it is asking me for my serial number again - as if I had freshly installed th program.

First, I am wondering if anyone else has had the same issue - If so was there any way of putting it back into its right mind without having to unlock the serial number again. (My copy is legally bought thank you very much!)

Second, Is there a limit imposed on how many times my serial number can be unlocked?

there is a limit before you have to ask ableton.
the limit is two unlocks

then you mail ableton and explain the situation - they will mail you back and say 'sure unlock some more'.
That is simply to stop one serial being unlocked 4,045,231,125 times in a weekend.

if you unlocked the same copy around 50 times in a year they might start asking you a few more questions.
