You have to erase this:

15" MacBook Pro / 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo / 3GB RAM / FreeAgent Pro eSATA 500GB 7200rpm / OSX 10.4.10 / Live 6.0.10 / Operator / Sampler / Peak LE 5.2.1 / Battery 3.0.2 / Presonus Firebox / E-MU XBoard25

And replace it with this:

Staring at my hand

Amazing arren't they? I got one on Wednesday after the price drop, really really nice little device. Spent my lunch break shopping for new tunes to DJ with online (additech.com), all without wifi. I haven't been making much music either since then, though mostly because my studio is all packed up for the move cross country :)

I want one too. But lucky me just bought a stinking ass Blackberry Pearl in December with a two year cotract through T-Mobile. Don't get me wrong, it was a hot phone for about three days, then Aple announced the iPhone.

So, unless they open the iPhone up to other carriers I wont be getting one till next X-Mas.

$200 price drop = Amount you pay T-Mobile to cancel said contract.

Think of it as Apple's Get Out of Jail Free card.

Or a wasted $200. It's all perspective.

Funny thing is I bitched to jump out of my verizon contract 2 months early because I just HAD to have the Pearl. Granted, the phone I was using then was in really sad shape and I was pretty unhappy with Verizons service. But still, I went back and forth with the wife on whether it was a good idea. She suggested I wait the but in the end I prevailed.

Picked up the Pearl, signed on for 2 years with T-Mobile and decided to just pay the last 2 months of the verizon contract for a phone I was not using.

Before those 2 months were up the iPhone was announced.

Mrs. Smutek just reminded me about that little piece of history.

Personally I'm waiting until this phone I have dies, and then I'll make the decision. Me and the girl have T-Mobile so we get free minutes now, and I would have to make her switch etc. so the whole thing would cost me a lot more than the $500 or so to start up plus the $200 to break the contract.
The one thing that would justify purchasing one to me would be if you could add third party applications in; Something that you could fire keyboard commands to Live through bluetooth, or Microsoft Word for the iPhone.
Ass it stands it's really nice, but the Razor 2 whatever I have now is fine, besides I break every phone I've owned practically.
