trentemøller, apparat - go, no go?

Post by substance_g » Fri Sep 14, 2007 12:13 pm

Both are playing in Berlin this month as part of Popkomm.

Am a big fan of their CDs, but anyone seen them live already? Worth seeing?

Apparat is a must-see. I saw him at the Decibel Festival a couple of years ago and he pwned Seattle that night....

sometimes I hate living in Dallas...I often roll my eyes when my friends think they're cool because they're going to see PVD or BT. *sigh*

you guys are very lucky...

apparat, definately, but there's a slight chance for dissapointment if youre a fan of his early idm works, last time I heard him live it was more hard techno than idm.

As far as Apparat is concerned, I strongly recommend to skip the gig if he's playing in his pop combo, and thus singing. I hated the show at Volksbühne a few months back.

His techno stuff rocks though

apparat is a must-see. his shows can be VERY different from one another, depending on the style he plays for that show/tour. whatever he does, it'll be fun to watch how he mangles the sounds with his homemade max patch (assuming he still uses it). he's also a very devoted performer - he gets into it, hard.

i saw trentemoller in march when he played at a club in leeds, we were looking forward to it because i thought his singles were excellent, esp. 'polar shift'.

he was absolutely awful. one of the worst, cheesiest shows i've ever seen in my life. it was so bad, it could have been judge jules, pete tong or someone like that up there. not what we expected at all.

can't speak for apparat, but would recommend staying in and doing your tax return rather than going to see trentemoller unless he's substantially changed his live set.
