Automation and synth plugins

hi everyone,

got 6.0.9 and most of the stupid ideas I got work pretty well with Ableton. Can't get my head around this Automation issue, tho.

The QuadraSID plugin I like to use (annoying c64 sounds) does not send automation data to the host therefore I got no editable params in Ableton's arrangement view and I love to maniacally doodle some modulation changes into the tracks. Is there a way to send CC data manually from Ableton since the plugin is very well receiving CC data if I force it to?

Otherwise the plug can only function as a real-time instrument since CC changes from an external midi controller, be it a BCR2000 or a midified Hairdryer are not recorded either and doing a simultaneous audio recording of the performance is also less than sexy.

I tried rtfm and forum search so far, evidently neither led to success so any help would be highly appreciated

FYI

clip view, clip envelope, choose desired midi-cc, create envelope, copy clip to arrangement, stretch it to desired length, highlight the desired part of the arrangement, right click and consolidate, BOOM, clip envelope can be used for whole tracks.

Ive been tryin for ages to work out how to get around Live's limitation of 128 parameters displayed in the drop-down automation list
