Thanks to all who replied to the last post on this topic. After much screwing around I've almost solved the problem of getting 2 laptops in MIDI sync so as to jam together live perfectly in time (doing it by ear is OK but this cuts out the hassle and sounds much better)
Ive managed to get a program called MIDIoverLAN ( http://www.musiclab.com/product ) which seems to be working well by sending midi info over a LAN connection. This is fine, and ableton responds on both computers (midi "S" light flashs) but I cant seem to get them to follow time and sync. Also when I press the "External sync " tab, non of the loops will play untill I turn it off.
Very confused at the mo and would appreciate any help.
