Hello All
I'm a newb to Live 6 and was hoping I could get some help. I only see 1 stereo out in Live (with Alpha Asio selected in preferences). I'm using a Lexicon Alpha interface and have a Soundblaster Audigy Soundcard. The problem is that the metronome and any tracks playing alongside an armed track get picked up while the armed track is recording. Do I need a new interface, sound card or what? Live's basically useless to me right now. Pls help!!
Tracks and Metronome Bleeding Through....
Re: Tracks and Metronome Bleeding Through....
I don't know the Lexicon Alpha very much. It has only one stereo out, right? I assume you expect to see the outs of the Audigy as well. Sadly, this isn't possible because with ASIO Live can only use one audio hardware at a time. I'm not sure if this is the case with every other software.mjrisin wrote:I only see 1 stereo out in Live (with Alpha Asio selected in preferences). It sounds like the input of the Alpha is somehow connected to its outputs, maybe internally via the configuration software of the Alpha (as I stated above I don't really know the Alpha, but most audio hardware can be routed internally in a variety of sometimes confusing ways), maybe externally by some kind of cabling. (We can exclude a routing failure inside Live, because Live is indeed able to record it's own output by resampling but always leaves out the motronome.)mjrisin wrote:The problem is that the metronome and any tracks playing alongside an armed track get picked up while the armed track is recording. Therefore, please help us helping you by providing us with more details of your setup including settings in the Alpha's configuration, cabling (perhaps via a mixer) etc.

I think you're right about the problem being with the routing of the alpha. When I set the "Monitor Mix" volume to direct, the problem goes away (only my input is recorded), but as soon as I add any playback to the mix, it is recorded on Live's track. I've got to believe there is a fix for this, but I'm disappointed with the overall quality of this interface so I'm exchanging it for a Firepod. Hopefully, this will solve the problem as it has separate main and cue mix outputs.
