Playback Drop outs

Can anyone help me with the problem I am having during playback.
It seems to record all 16 channels fine but when I play back I am getting drop outs.

I am using
P4 2.80GHZ
with a 320 gb 7200rpm lacie external hard drive
Mackie 1640 Onyx
Live 6.0.0
any suggestions

Change the latency to highest

Or are the tracks warped in complex mode?if yes, try other than complex.(beats,repich,,,,,,)

Thanks, I have tried the latency seems to makes no difference. The tracks were recorded in warped mode with beats chosen. I will try the complex mode as it does say it is for whole songs. I will try it this way and let you know how it came out. Any other suggestions?
