All PC, All Freebies:

DigitalFishPhones Blockfish - oldie but still a goodie
De La Mancha Dirtbox - parallel compressor
GVST GComp2 - solid with little colouration & filters/gate
Jeroen Breebaart PC2 - interesting psychoacoustic comp - v.transparent
Reacomp - awesome - lots of options
TBT TLs-2095-LA - smacks like fuck!
Vanilla Comp - prolly the overall best but no GUI

All can be sidechained using 'Twisted Lemon Sidekick' & all can be found linked from http://www.kvraudio.com/

Kjaerhus Gold Plugs, specifically
Golden Audio Channel - GAC
Golden Compressor - GCO
Golden Unipressor - GUP
Golden Peak Pressor - GPP

To my ears, smoother and less colored than Sonalksis or Waves, yet still very analogish and very very usable/flexible.

Vanilla Comp can be sidechained on its own as well. I like it's response for pumping sounds.

...I cannot imagine why no mention of Waves yet...

Just pick any comp from the lot.... I like Renaissance comp and C4 ...

And L2 for brickwall... though I tend Not to use it Nowadays...
