The question is, like someone else said, that the technology is already
developed. Now there is needed a company / manufacturer that makes it real,
reliable and afordable.

Some time ago i read on the net that Apple would be designing a Mac with
integrated touch screen. If this was true, i would swich to Mac inmediately. But
never heard of it anymore. Maybe was a hoax.

I don't understand why people like Jeff Hann continue developing, for surely
appealing applicatons like those weird visuals that let you create and rotate
shapes with your fingers, etc. But he can't stop and say: let's now manufacture
a simple multi tocuh screen that people can use in their real lifes. I'll buy one
right now.

but Apple released the ipod Touch very recently
i would call that stage 1.... of many

its a transitional time for this tech
(ie dont invest unless u have $ to burn)

i would guess that we should see something like the
Lemur for a tenth the cost within a year or two
maybe built into your next gen ibook
or maybe the next next gen

but will it really make 'better' music?

who knows?

Jeff Hann sold out. Doing military installations and broadcasting stuff now.

I got my eyes on a fresh new company called Stantum.
Apple is currently beta-testing touchscreens (iphone, Ipod touch) and rumors are that their next thing will be replacing the touchpad on the xmas macbooks..

and I dont think it will be too far off

If I think back to what computers I was using 5 years ago in 2002 I could easily imagine over the next couple of years this stuff will properly start emerging
