My first 2 tracks

Post by bleepsnbreaks » Wed Oct 10, 2007 2:25 pm

Hi Everyone,

Heres a couple of tracks I have put together in the last few weeks.

Started making music about 2 months ago, these are the only 2 things I have actually developed into a structured (loose use of the term :) ) track.

Still learning my way around Live but loving the process :)

First one was "7 Days Down" because it was done in a week, next was Counterpoint, which was actually done in 5 days but could hardly call it 5 days down :)

Counterpoint is made entirely with Operator, appart from the drums and human parts, I just bought it so was going crazy with it learning how it works :)

Tunes are on my myspace

Thanks for listening !

Hello. Those where my first 2 computers too the C16 then C64 love that old sidchip sound. Wow it only took you a week to do 7 days down, I wish it only took me that long to do a track, 7 months would be a better title for me most of the time 8O . I don't really listen to Prog house but Counterpoint sounds really solid, I like how the groove builds, it sounds crisp and clear enough, they sound good even on myspace :P Do you play or create Electro style house, Im trying to create some myself http://www.myspace.com/hackroidmusic most of my older stuff sounds nothing like Electro though. Nice one....!

Thanks for the comments man, good old commodore, Im thinking about getting a commodore logo tatoo :)
I used to be quite into electro house a couple of years ago but kinda moved into progressive, tech house, minimal house and techno.
I can only really produce progressive though, everythin I start just comes out that way, guess its what Im meant to do for now :)
Yeah, 7 days down took a week and counterpoint took 5 days. Just finished another one today, Im wathcing you, which I will put on my myspace soon, just needs a few more tweaks, that one took a week aswell.
Tunes either come out really fast for me or not at all :)

Counterpoint is well mixed until that bassey pad comes in, its too loud for the mix and over shadows the kicks and drums. Sounds like its making the mix duck a little on the mix compression? Just my opinion obviously. Some great sounds there though.

7 Days Down is perfection in mixing personified. Only 2 mins in but loving it. 8)

Ditto on the foghorn in Counterpoint, and in general it became a little repetitive. I really like Seven Days Down .... and I'm so impressed that you've only been doing this for a couple of months. Great stuff!

Ive uploaded a new version of Counterpoint to myspace, got a hold of that overpowering bass part, overall I think it sounds alot better, still a few more tweaks to do.
Thanks for all the commends guys, keep em comming, this is all a part of the learning experience for me :)
Also just finshed up a new track, well, arrangement wise etc, needs a couple of days on my ipod so I can pick up any blaringly obvious things I need to change before I upload that on myspace but will do that soon :)
