UC33e & other midi devices

Post by B » Sun Jul 18, 2004 9:32 am

Hello All,

I can only seem to get one midi device working at a time and I'm wondering whether I need a midi merge box.

Does anyone with a UC33e know if it is possible to play more than one midi device (in this case a keyboard) via the UC33e's Midi IN to trigger samples in Ableton or play notes in Cubase in a standard midi chain?

Looking at the Evolution manual it mentions that you have to use a midi merge box but I can't understand why the evolution would have a Midi OUT and an IN - this is usually a standard feature on midi gear and is usually no problem.

As always any help appreciated.

I'm new to live, but I think with the uc33e you need to set the midi out to on. Do this by pressing the two buttons above "midi out from usb" and you should see "USB -> MIDI" on the screen. You can then set the two devices in preferences. This is with the 4.0 beta, not sure about other versions.

check out http://www.midiox.com/

I use four different MIDI input devices and route them all through these tools.
