the new version of Auto-filter in Live 8

Post by forge » Mon Nov 19, 2007 9:53 am

I'd like auto-filter to have a morph mode like sampler, a formant filter like Analog and an envelope section like si/ampler/operator

it would also be cool if there was a way to make the envelope section just do amplitude - but maybe that should be a different plug-in

That would be sweeet! I love modulating the the formant setting in Zebra's XMF filter. So this option with Autofilter would be nice. I also like the idea of a separate Envelope plug and an LFO plug. Live's becoming more and more modular, so maybe this is not too far off.

(Even) cooler autofilter and an LFO plug would be fantastic.

I know I can with racks do dual filtering but I want a robust dual filter with more modes including some formants.
Better control over the envelope follower is needed too for beats enveloping.

+1 for the formant mode (can't be that complicated to transport it from Analog to Auto filter?)
My English is not perfect, I know... Sorry about that.

Some formant fun for all who like me are waiting for a real formant filter!
I'm new to live and this is my first effect rack :) so be nice
i used formant vowel presets that come with live. I tweaked the O a bit coz to me it didn't sound like O.
included are basic morphs A->I O->I U->I
there is also one O->I->A rack.. with proper automation it can go from O to I to A (proof of concept) to use this turn O-I to the max then turn switch button to the end (no sound change) then turn I - O

I haven't had time to do other combinations.. maybe i will later when i have time

place folder in your library/presets/audio effects/audio effect rack

some new stock filters tooo
LP and HP sound really flaccid to me, always end up using other stuff, whereas id love to be able to use AutoFilter more often, but it just doesn't have the energy of other filter plugins.

I think, it should have every Filter-type available, that all the ableton instruments have, like the ones operator has now...
