bloody hell. expensive. but i think its gonna be one of those things u might just have to take a risk buying..
shoulda got a monome when the first lot came out, seem pretty cool... but if this tenori on is just midi thats ok, i guess... yamaha midi spec should be pretty though, and at least i dont have to mess around with max msp and that run time thing.. which has NEVER worked on either my 2 laptops or desktop..
suppose it might if i was on a mac..

I am using one for two weeks now and the Midi-Out is somehow very limited (Note-On messages) - also the clock is in sync with Live - tried 4 different interfaces....
So i wrote this patch (The tenori-on helper), which makes the clock adjustable and I am working to implement some of remote-functions on one of the layers.
Started a blog about it a few days ago:

I shwinged when I first saw the Tenori. Definitely not something I need, but what a bad ass toy! I have a feeling my productiveness would go out the door with one.
no prevailing genre of music:

so it's basically something to play with while high.

I agree....
As a standalone "toy" it is very easy to learn and makes a lot of fun.
BUT as a remote-control for any other DAW it is in this version pretty useless.
1. The Midi-Clock is always behind.
2. It puts out Midi-Notes in a way, which is not useful to contol e.a. the remote functions in Ableton Live.
Thats the reason why I started programming the "tenori-on helper", which is working well for me in live-situations to control Live with it.
Still working on it...... still in a kind of 0.94 status.....but feel free to try it on you machine...8)
best wishes
