ending "November" discount early...!!!
For those that sent in an email about still honoring their "November" discount for live 6 (free live 7), did anyone get a response yet???
Bummer they went back on their word, as I wanted to buy it TODAY! Please let me know if anyone gets a reply from Ableton...thanks.
P.S. - I'm USA based...but it's still November in Germany too ! =P

EXACTLY...I put up a post two days ago asking if they changed the upgrade deadline for the discount...no response...the website said until Jan. 31...why no forewarning or correcting the info on the page?? or at least make an announcement on the forums?? or send out an e-mail?? get my drift??? not to mention ITS STILL NOVEMBER!!! At least where I live it is...smh...
Yes, I have been looking for the PDF for student L6 upgrade from 5, I believe it was $89 or something close. I was looking forward to downloading it today, had it marked on my calendar since the promotion came out, but it appears as though they removed the PDF student upgrade to 6 as of today! I haven't emailed the Abes yet, but I did post about this in another thread. I hope for some good news.

My understanding was that it said if you buy/upgrade and unlock Live 6 between October and January (can't remember the dates) then you got live 7 upgrade free. So I guess the key thing here is you can buy it until they stop selling it but you have until January to unlock. The wording could be interpreted in a number of ways. But it's kinda obvious that they aren't gonna still sell 6 when 7 is released, isn't it?
i'm sure law talking people can talk there way out of about anything, the key issue for me here was that is was an upgrade path - i.e. no v5 owner is ever going to go out and buy a retail copy of 6. i was really excited about cycling 74 coming in and wiping your audio engine's proverbial ass. ok, maybe not like, 179 excited, but definitely 119 excited.
yeah and that date was tomorrow, I marked it on the calendar when the promo started.dazzer wrote:My understanding was that it said if you buy/upgrade and unlock Live 6 between October and January (can't remember the dates) then you got live 7 upgrade free. yes. The discount was to buy live 6 or an upgrade anytime during the month of November and recevie $100 discount (plus Live 7 for free). Ableton advertised "all this month" or similar wording, and the 29th and 30th are still included in "this month."
We're just irritated because we actually wanted to become costumers, and they jumped the gun and released before the end of the month, thus raising their prices unexpectedly. People like me were holding off till the last minute to try demos, others programs etc, and finally made up our minds....and now the shaft.
Sooooooo......hopefully Ableton will hold true to their advertised word, respond to our emails, and honor their "save a $100" offer that should still apply today and tomorrow (Nov. 30th).
