a little cheap trick to create breaks with impulse:
create a pattern, and then add notes that don't actualy trigger sounds (like c#3 f#3 or even D4, G4), and then add a random device before the impulse device.
if you set correct values for choices and scale, when you'll activate the randomization, the pattern will start breaking (hte nice point being that all the breaks will be originals).

try adding a chord generator in bewteen as well. makes it go more nuts!
