mpc style quantization
mpc style quantization
im wondering if there is a way to set up live7 to quantize like the mpc? i know that u can quantize everything after the sequence is done, but as i remember the mpc would sort of "catch" a midi note on the 16th, 8th, when the pad was hit, which made for some really cool sequences...? anyone know what im saying? i can only figure out how to quantize with cntrol u, and the mouse after my sequence is done.

someone told me once that the trademark sound of the MPC was because of it's clock.i don't have one so i couldn't tell you.EgAD wrote:does that give you the sound of the mpc swing?

It may be because of it's clock but when you analyse a MIDI out from an MPC with varying amounts of swing, it's just fucked up, irregular. That's what gives it it's 'sound'. Maybe it is its clock but I'd hazard a guess that the irregular swing pattern was just put there by AKAI.thumperjack wrote:someone told me once that the trademark sound of the MPC was because of it's clock.i don't have one so i couldn't tell you.EgAD wrote:does that give you the sound of the mpc swing?
