Cool to see some people are actually finishing music on here

I'll have to check them out when I am not at work and can actually listen to them...although some I already know.

I'd pick Big Bad Biker Bully Bugs

I tried recrating the vibe from the motorcycle level on Crash Bandicoot 3 from what I could remember, and I think I succeeded quite well. I like the extra sci-fi touch it ended up having. :)

www.nebulae.com has my best work for the year front and center...if I had to pick one, it would be Lullaby.

I also like my remix of "Love Comes First" and my remix of "Failure" both found on http://www.nebulae.com/music/rmx.html

For me, I finished my first original production and released it on a label called Thoughtless Music. The track is 'Bushpilot'. I am particularly happy with it because of my experiments with sound design. I used Sampler to make a small propeller sound and I incorporated many other found sounds.

I called it Bushpilot, a) because real bush pilots here in Northern Canada are crazy bastards who fly all over the tundra and survive, b) the room in my dad's apartment where I finished the track off is, for some reason or other, decorated with paintings of bush planes taking off and landing on remote lakes, c) it really did kind of remind me of taking off from a lake in Nunavut called Dubawnt Lake, and seeing the vastness of the arctic stretching out beneath us. It also invokes the funny G. W. Bush Pilot video on youtube. I was going to use a quote from him, 'Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They stop at nothing to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.' He actually said that! My friend convinced me to remove it, though, and I agreed. I don't want to hear that monkey's voice when I listen to music...

So, yeah, finally releasing! Check it out: http://www.myspace.com/ericgdowner

My first remix is up there as well, by Derek Marin, called 'Cut the Line' Enjoy!

A track I did called ultraviolet has a nice story to it.
Basically was bored one day at work and was browsing other peoples libraries on itunes for some new music to listen to.
Came across a hybrid folder on my bosses itunes and found some new mixes on there. First mix I open I’m thinking “this is a nice track – I recognize it” but can’t place it – then it dawn’s on me it’s one of mine!! Was a real nice moment , and just sitting at work listening and thinking I got to tell someone though I dont think anyway at work is really interested!

You can hear here:

Theres a link to the hybrid mix at http://www.stevenfoulds.co.uk

Also getting round to finishing my first ep was a nice feeling you can hear: http://www.myspace.com/stevefoulds

So I don't have to catch up on everybody later, I can already admit to being a fan of these tracks (and your podcast). Even more of a compliment I know exactly which tracks you are talking about without having to listen to them..rare for electronica tracks that don't have a vocalist drilling the name of the song into your head with the chorus.

Pitch Black wrote:"Bird Soul" off our album Rude Mechanicals released in September.

It's about a friend of ours who committed suicide by jumping off a building while we were recording the album. He had had a history of depression which no-one outside of his immediate family knew about. So its about our sadness for him, and also about him flying free of his pain. I suppose there's also some of our anger and dismay at losing him in there, too.

In Maori cosmology, the departed take on the forms of birds, hence the title.

WOW PB, been listening and you two might be my favorite new band. I've seen you live a few times and dig the tunes but I can't find the CDs locally (is it best to get them online? I don't usually do that, I like CDs.) having a sit and listen, I'm loving your tunes. strange, suddenly I can taste jack and coke, smell the fog and my eyes are seeing red and blue flashes... I love this style though, it's exactly what I wish I could pull off.

can't toot my own horn though, I'm not nearly flexible enough.

I'm pretty proud of the entire EP I released in 2007 but the most popular song is that of the title of the EP and the band: "Blip Fool"

You can check out the full tune on virb...

This caused me to go back and look... been a fairly productive year, with about 65 tracks done - good thing I don't have a life!

Anyhow, I think one my faves is this one:

What Once Was

Down tempo (as most of my stuff is) with a bit of a trip feel.

Hey, this game is easy: I only finished one track so far this year.

Enjoy: http://www.virb.com/substance_g

There's still a fortnight of 2007 left, plenty of time to double my output... :)

Before I get to the reviewin' of the music posted on here that I don't already know here's my song of the year.

Breathless featuring Zintek, which can be heard here:

http://www.virb.com/minusyou

This is my top (favorite?) track because it features the elusive female vocals. After months of sending her unfinished tracks with the only directions of "Do something if you feel it" and not getting anything back, I wrote this song and sent it to her with th directions "I need it done in 2 weeks". I understand that people get busy or maybe something doesn't inspire them so I wasn't all that butt hurt about previous attempts. 2 weeks came and went and I just posted it as an instrumental among many. About a week later she sent me her vocals and I loved it.

I don't think this song gets a lot of attention because it has to build and people have a short attention span but I think it turned out really well, the song has chemistry, and although I don't think I broke any new ground here I think it has a completely original sound that can't be compared to just one artist/group. You tell me.
