Drum Rack Choke Problem

Post by sunrahrahrah » Thu Jan 03, 2008 1:11 am

Im not sure if this is known about but as far as I can tell you can only choke if you are using samples in simpler, not in a cell in an impulse.

I liked the way impulse grouped alot of features, so in new drum racks I've been dropping empty impulse kits, then putting my sample in the first slot. But when I assign choke groups, they dont work. They work if the sample is just dropped into the slot with simpler though. this is for sure, I tested it by dropping the volume of one sample all the way so I would hear when the choke happens. I haven't tried with anything else, but maybe operator or other instruments dont choke properly either? Does anyone else have this problem?

the choke works with operator > maybe this is just a problem with impulse?

It doesn't surprise me too much,

I was told that Impulse is not really supported within a drum rack, although obviously it is usable to a certain extent

Also you cannot use Impulse as a default chain for a drum rack.

I figure that the drum rack note mapping does not "see" into an Impulse

so I would also suspect that the pads might not respond correctly to them. If you put multiple Impulse chains, does the C3 pad show "multi"??
