Media Center Edition is shit. There are all type of complications and none of them can be explained or solved. Some people don't encounter any problems with MCE. I have a Sony Viao VGNE78G which came with WinXP MCE and nothing ever worked...including a Trigger Finger (thou M-Audio warns it's not supported) a Edirol Fa66 and Alesis Firewire Multimix 12.

I can honestly say switching to Win XP Pro will make your life easier. MCE has no redeeming features. Sure, Live 6 worked on your platform...but that's the fucked up thing about MCE....is sooo sporadic and inconsistent.
media center is the same thing as windows home edition just with some bundled media software. the reason why my trigger finger also doesn't work in media center is not on microsoft's end, but m audio's end. M audio cannot write drivers if their life depended on it. my mpd24, novation x station, emu xboard49, and the emu 1616m all work fine on media center edition without any glitches.

the only issue i have in live 7 was i should of backed up my library in 6 because those files can't go back to version 6. all my live 5 files work fine after the install still.

but in exchange for that new audio engine, i can't complain. With live 7 i really fuck around with samples.

Tarnce needs to be made into a legitimate music movement, i like the name too much. What kind of music could it be, I'm thinking its like countryside retard beats with ravens

MCE isn't officially supported by NI, and I'd imagine Ableton's the same.

Blank's suggestion about trying MME's a good one; however, I don't know if that'll do the trick. I was using the Live 7 betas (still haven't upgraded thugh) with the original Kore controller without seeing any of what you're talking about using XP Home.

I'd rather call it ignorance, but that's just me...

Actually not at all. Most scholars are not convinced either.

Just FYI. I enjoy these podcasts. They are intelligent and well balanced.

Personally I prefer evidence over superstition.
