Adapting global tempo to a recorded "first loop"

Post by Per Boysen » Sun Aug 08, 2004 8:33 pm

As we have discussed before there is no way in Live 4 to have the global tempo set by the length of your first recorded loop/clip. Now I found a workaround for OS X in using the AU plug-in Augustus Loop (recent beta). http://www.collective.co.uk/expertsleep ... sloop.html

This tape delay simulation plug-in can send out a sync signal that appears in Live's preferences. Simply set Live to sync to "Augustus Loop" and use the "Tap Rec" function in Augustus to record a loop. As soon as you stopp recording the loop Live the plug-in will send out the sync signal and Live will start in the right tempo.

I you want to use more instances of Augustus Loop you have to set them to "Host Sync" and they will hook up to Live the usual way. Only one instance of the plug-in can be the master.
