Clip/Scene launch makes sequencer jump back to full bar

Post by dr.wackler » Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:42 am

When I set the Arrangement Insert Marker to a subposition of a bar, enable the Global Record Button, and then start the recording process by launching a Clip or Scene in Session View, usually recording should start at the exact position where I did set the Arrangement Insert Marker. Would make sense, wouldn't it?

But, as soon as I launch the Clip or Scene, playback (and hence recording) starts from the full bar that precedes the subposition which I have set the Arrangement Insert Marker to.
Is this a bug or is there a way around this*?

* other than the workaround (Launch Clip or Scene in Session View, go back to Arrange View, then enable Global Record, then start the sequencer)

interesting issue.

once you start launching things in session, the arrangement becomes to varying degrees irrelevant. especially if you launch an entire scene - assuming there are no stop buttons removed, you're removing the entire arrangement from the picture. so therefore the insert/play marker..

?

I don't know if that's a definitive answer, I'm just trying to think about what's going on. I can definitely see the behavior you are describing

I can't check earlier versions, but I suppose I've never really noticed this because if I'm using the insert point, i'm starting via the transport or space bar, not clips or scenes
