Ableton Booth at NAMM 08 - Disappointing Results
the best show stall ever was TREX guitar pedals, they had a free bar with danish export, gave me a free tshirt and posted me a nob that fell off my guitar pedal...

well, fun thread, ehhh? all i have to say is this. if they got paid to stand around at a convention, then there job is to be nice. fuck the bullshit, that is their job, and i have zero respect for idiots that just collect a check, and are dicks about it. so yeah, neb should have expected a smile, as i would have. i ain't tryin to be a fanboy, but a simple what's up and a smile would suffice. or is the world soooo busy? fuck that. neb, your money is important, as well as mine, and anyone else who has pumped hundreds, may thousands, into this product. WE employ THEM. our money supports their way of life. a prospective client walks into the booth. he knows nothing about ableton. the abe reps give him the cold shoulder. he walks away. what has he learned about our favorite sequencer, which may have been his, too? nothing, but he knows ableton is a bunch of assholes. everyone does it, even the detractors here. something someone you don't know made you upset because you didn't like their reaction to you.
let me put it this way. i could go to macfuckies and get a burger from some lazy teenager who does not care about their job, or me, and have no problem letting me know this, or i could go to whataburger, where i am greeted with a smile. probably same kids working, they don't give a shit either. but they don't let me know, they kiss my ass. and that makes the meal "better". perception is 90% reality. just look at politics and religon...
it's all about lip service. ask any good salesperson. they don't have to give a shit, but they need to pretend. it's how our economy works.

sorry, yes I can be a dick, if I am one is up to you over time, I'll chill. aaaaanyway... I haven't been to NAMM, but this is what I understand.
you have to be invited to NAMM, which generally means you have to work for a company in the business or somehow be related to the industry, or know someone who is. so, the demeanor, purpose and environment at NAMM isn't a sales type of convention.
Nebulae is the Geraldo Rivera of NAMM and the forum, stirring up all this controversy, even giving away the location of troops and meeting rooms.
