Multiple Control Surfaces (BCF2000's)

Post by garethfry » Tue Jan 22, 2008 7:15 am

Hello,

I've got 2 Behringer BCF2000's which I'd like to setup for use in Live 7, with BCF #1 controlling ch.s 1-8 and BCF #2 controlling ch.9-16. They are both connected to my Mac using USB cables (one per BCF). I've setup the Control Surfaces preferences so that the 2 control surfaces are active, and set the device id's differently on the BCF's, but both BCF's are controlling & responding to ch.1-8 only. How do i tell Live to make BCF #2 control ch.s9-16? Obviously I can do this with MIDI mapping, but i'd like to do this and keep the AutoMap features intact etc?

thanks
g

I don't have the manual or the app here - but doesn't instant mappings only apply to channel 1-8? If you'd use the Mackie mode instead you could switch one of the BCFs to the next bank. But then I don't know if Live allows you to assign several Mackies...

How about setting up both BCF2000's under Mackie Emulation as per normal, but keep one of them permanently in the second control bank (faders 9-16)? Just a guess..

That was what I was trying to say. But then I'm not sure if Live allows for multiple Mackies. But do try!

Set it as Mackie control Xt 1-2-3, it should work fine. It works with the Tascam us2400, so it should be ok.

Sort of working successfully.

Unit 1 is in it's normal mode, giving me control of ch.s 1-8 and instant auto mapping on the top row of knobs.

Unit 2 is in Mackie Emulation mode, with the preset right button pressed to get control of ch.s 9 - 16.

it clunky as the different units have different functions for identical buttons but gets the job done for the moment.

thanks for all the advice
