We had a dj (Troop D) spin till dark, then 2 hours of 'found media' which most of you internet savvy folks probably already know about, all kinds of political shorts (This Land Is Your Land, stuff from illegal art.com, etc) and the end of the night with our 'band', Los Minstrels Del Diablo. We had piles of old televisions being fed output from Vjamm, which we run version 1.1 on 2 machines (easy to do, since it is very affordable, and never ever crashes!), video is fed thru a mixer that has a few built in digital effects, and the 2 Vjamm's are crossfaded, clips triggered manually, and from MIDI clips from the new Live version 4! Final Scratch is utilized for sample scratching of spoken word clips we weave thru our sets.
We Vjammed throughout Troop D's set also, as the tv's helped carry the images during light of day, and the projector we had (we borrowed an 1800 lumen Sony, not sure about the specs), kicked in nice after dark.
Overall, the evening was a success, everyone had a good time, and we'll be doing this again!
Our next gig is Theatre Bizarre, on October 23rd (this one is about $30 for tickets, but you get about 6 or 7 bands, acts, and Los Minstrels does the 'electronic' side of the house, see pics at http://www.theatrebizarre.com ) oh and beverages are provided
