your controller is recognized by Live, but doesn't work in Live?

SO, in prefernces, you see the Oxygen controller as a MIDI input, but when you go to use it... you don't see the Oxygen under the inputs list? Or you can select the Oxygen as your input source on a MIDI track, but that track receives nothing? Or you can select the Oxygen, and when you hit it, Live signals that it receives MIDI data, but this data does not result in any sound?

the weird thing is that oxygen IS recognized by the "Audio Midi Setup" aplication of the os x , in the lives preferences , under the "MIDI" tab it shows the oxygen in the "MIDI ports" but the "MIDI in indicator" (little square on the top right) doesnt lite up!!!!

i used to use the same setup but with a powerbook (not intel) and a demo version of live. as soon as i bought live and this computer the problem came in

tx for the help!

My Oxygen-8 was a bit flaky on the powerbook but has been ok so far on the MBP. Sometime the Oxygen-8 would stop responding and only a power cycle of the laptop would help.

Stupid question, but have you tried both USB ports? Or with a powered USB hub, just to eliminate anything funny on the USB port itself as a potential problem?

well if it is recognized by both the O.S's and Live's "MIDI prefs" it can't be the USB port ... i 'm guessing it might be something to do with either oxygen's or the mac's drivers, although i have the last driver for the oxygen 8. Im sure the problem is not with Live because it wont work with absynth or other sofwares either.
