BPMer?

Post by beats me » Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:35 am

Has anybody used this thing to automatically detect song BPM and attach them to song metatags? How accurate is it?

I'm also nervous about anything that automatically goes through your library and attaches things. The last time I did something like that a program analyzed my songs for the album artwork which took it hours and after doing so changed the artwork of about 700 songs to this.

That really pissed me off. I'm not even that big of a fan of The Doors.

i used the demo for a few hundred songs.

it took two dyas, and was only about 40% accurate

nothing automatic

i use a freware app
that is a script for itunes.

it lets you tap the bpm and then it will update the meta data in itunes.

I have 10,000 songs so i will do about 20 - 50 songs per session

Rapid Evolution might be able to do what you want, but I'm not sure if it can do meta tags or just filenames...

Edit: Or there's Mixmeister BPM Analyzer (PC only).

Cool. I'll try those. I'm looking for something that can help me compensate for Live's crappy warping and other programs not quite getting it right either. At least I'll know what BPM the programs should be aiming for.
