if you are on a PC disable your spacebar with this

http://www.stillwaterrecords.com/blockspace.zip

I dug it out of the forum archive - I forget who first made that

if they got rid of it, they at least need to update the info text for the sync in/out indicators, which still say "EXT switch to the left"

but the sync lights are moved to the far left..
?

I'm after a workaround for osx.

I'm more worried about knocking it myself rather than someone else.

Kind of cool...You have to actually enable a MIDI port for SYNC In for the EXT to show up...

ah, it must be an INPUT port only

;)

so, yeah - do that. on osx or whatever - no little programs, just hit that EXT :)

it actually disables the transport controls too, so in case you accidentally click on the stop button, hehe

I dig the spacebar...Ive been jammin on the spacebar recently- stop and go style. Assign pads to scenes, turn off the global quantize and then bang on the pads and the spacebar! Fun stuff!

This is one of the main reasons I'm always moaning about Live's lack of user-assignable key commands.

The spacebar is probably the only key I don't want controlling the transport - it's so easily hittable by mistake and only accessible in a studio situation with either the left hand or reaching over with the right.

I've been using kypad "enter" and "0" as start and stop for twenty years and now suddenly if I want to use Live I'm compelled to use "Space".

No no NO.

[Not to mention all of the remaining TWO HANDED key commands to do the most basic things.]

are you on a PC?
I've rewritten a lot of key commands to accelerate the workflow, if people are interested, I'll post here.
