I create my music using Session View or jamming with myself Live then I move the relevant clips in arrangement and begin arranging.

I voted "Rewire slave...", though I use it standalone as well. Live Rewired to Reaper gives me the awesome Drum Racks, Rex file support, and the Session view for playing around with grooves.
For audio recording and mixing it's Reaper all the way, so the two programs together give me everything I need and more.

I am just kidding.. I learned on Session view... with that Berkley Class... really good for jamming and setting things up with the clip envelopes! I really can't get into the Arrangement view until after the session jam has been recorded...
Actually I always start my sets off with session view... get a basic arrangement down... It feels more natural to me... rather than Painting everything in..
I love seeing how people use Live in different ways.. fascinating.

I use it mainly for music production
I sometimes mess with live looping to get some start points
since version 7 I'm trying to mix straight in ableton, since the audio engine has changed it's pretty good.
I still use protools for post production stuff but I have live rewired in it most of the time now
