Intel to PPC Live Set exchange, it should be simple...

Post by owlmonkeys » Sun Mar 16, 2008 11:45 pm

Hi all, I have Live 7 on my Macbook Pro and my Dual 2GHz PPC G5 PowerMac, both of which I just installed from the latest download. I have a Live Set in my MBP which I transferred to the PowerMac. Trouble is, when I go to open the set, which is not very complex at all, (a few scenes, no automation) in the PPC machine, Live unexpectedly closes, without the familiar "The application Live unexpectedly quit etc". Any thoughts? Could this be an Intel thing, or am I an idiot? Both, maybe?
MBPro 2.16 GHz 3GB ram
Pro Tools LE 7.3, Live 6, Reason 3 Adapted
Digi 003, Novation Remote SL, Access Virus Classic and a whole lot of pedals.

Hi,

the problem lies probably in an incompatibility with the plug-ins you used on the Power Mac. To quickly test, if that´s the case, please disable all plug-ins in Live´s file/folder preferences on your MBP and try to load the set: it should load (but you´ll certainly get a warning message about missing plug-ins).

Make sure you get Intel-Mac compatible (universal binary) versions of the plug-ins you used on your Intel Mac. Or try to freeze/flatten tracks containing any 3rd party plug-ins on your G5.

If the problems should persist, please contact [email protected]
