New alt/rock song done in Live - Ryan Henke

Post by sublimelobc » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:37 pm

Another song done entirely in live. I used to just do the entire song in session view, I'm loving arrangement view since I started using it recently.

I'm hoping for a way to take snapshots of automation, other than that and a few additional automation tools (easy comp tools would be great too) Live rocks for mixing....and now that I think about it, better views/customization on meters.

Anyways, here's the link, the new track is "Everything Under the Sun".

Great sound, Ryan. And the lyrics are great too. Is that you on guitar too? Drums?

Scott-
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

My last two songs I've used Live Suite's session drums. Before that my songs were done with a Roland Handsonic and assorted hand drums and midi clips played through the Roland. I'm loving session drums.

I use some NI synths, but since I upgraded to Live Suite recently I've tried to keep all that I can right within Live just for simplicities sake due to the fact that I work alone on all my songs. But yeah, the guitar is me as well....done actually start to finish in a single take with no comping which was a first for me. (after a long night of rehearsing)

Impressive re: the guitar. And I think that's a good way to go... gives it a very live feel even when other parts (ie. drums) may have some programming. And the drums sound great too.

And I hear ya on trying to keep as much in Live as possible. I'm the same, although I'm a sucker for the Zebra2 synth and love Stylus RMX for drums.

Keep it comin'.
