Check your PM'sTone Deft wrote:funk - many thanks for lending your expertise on these things. I'm a 35 year old electrical engineer, so I totally get how to PWM multicolor LEDs and I can imagine the gist of what the code would be to do this stuff.
what are your thoughts on the best, cheapest and easiest way for people to get this stuff into their hands? IOW for hobbyists what's the best route? theoretically we can build anything but in the end it's often cheaper and easier to buy stuff off the shelf. some like the journey of making stuff, some just want to get the job done. any tips? any pricing info? examples of stuff to buy?
cheers!
What is that? A .38?
38, 39, whatever it takes.

I think you're also my new bestest friend. I have been dreaming about realizing an LED project ever since I did this one:Tone Deft wrote:funk - many thanks for lending your expertise on these things. I think we need to email or something.
Kinda sorta like that in terms of the array of LEDs, but the single strip patterns are cheesy, yes.funkdefino wrote:Like this?

Not so pretty if you ask me... but I am not a fan of sound2light. Very hap hazard in most cases.
Lightjockey has some nice sound2light functions if you know what you are doing. Still it does mean having a controller and knowing how to program it. I'm guessing you want a turnkey solution.
More like by default the entire bank pulses w/color varied by frequency as well as patterns moving through the entire bank-- like the frequency sensitivity of the LEDs changes on the fly synced with bpm.
Yes, turnkey, but more bare bones w/out the case case , almost like the LEDs are mounted on foamcore panels and the panels can be plugged together, like LED legos.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
