snap crackle and pop audio distortion with delay

Post by djkalimike » Tue May 13, 2008 2:28 am

I'm using the BCD 3000 midi mixer and I'm having audio distorion and delay after playing for ten or fifteen minutes? Which is a new problem? Possible causes or solutions?

I can hear audio, but its delaying. This problems occurs after i play for 10 mins. Upon start sound is clear, however as i play the delay becomes greater. Meanwhile my cpu is only at 10 or 15%. ?

do you have a sound card with a mini-in available?

the drivers on a lot of the current crop of usb-devices are atrocious. try it over straight up midi-in (if you don't have an adapter, buy one. they're like 15€, though I suppose that's well over $1000 at this point, so if you're in the states you have an excuse)

basically, there's no reason to put your system through the pain of running any more usb devices than it has to when you could feed it nice clean healthy midi.

obviously you're likely to have at least one usb device, but that's the point: a single device will usually run a charm, but when the bus starts to get crowded it breaks down.

are you using the BCD3000 as your soundcard?

they are renown for all kinds of audio problems, ive read many posts where people using them have given up on the soundcard and only use it as a controller.
