Im sure its been said before, but there are only a few vocoders out there, and most of them are quite annoying!
Make a good, but simple one.

thank god we can call 'traditional' vocoders something like dead. spectral analysis sound soooo much more evil. (and we like evil!)

well, there certainly won't be one in Live 8, so if you need one I'm sure the one that won't be in that will be a very good one. The one that isn't in Live 8, the vocoder.
ah, I guess you had to be there.

I guess you aren't takling about the response Robert didn't make on the forum, or perhaps your aren't talking about the response Robert didn't make in a video that wasn't about monodeck.

-1. Vocoders are not very common production tools. They're way too specific. If you want a vocoder, go buy a vocoder.

if we see vocoder as a midi-in-voice-out tool then i agree fully with minus points. that kind of tool is useless.
something like vokator or spektral delay that modifies voice-in-voice-out would be attractive. i would +1 that!

don't think it's just about a vocoder. personally i think the developement of a vocoder that sounds really good isn't that easy. if it's going to be a feature on perhaps the next release it's just worthy when it's a quality vocoder, otherwise the working power should go into more wanted features by the community.
